Will and Jada Pinkett Smith Spent Thanksgiving Together with Their Kids: ‘Everyone Was in Wonderful Spirits’
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith hosted their family for a fun celebration on Thanksgiving.
On Thursday, Nov. 28, the pair spent the holiday together at home with their kids Jaden, 26, Willow, 24, and Trey, 32, plus Jada’s mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris and additional family and friends.
More than 60 people were in attendance altogether, a family friend who was there tells PEOPLE.
“Everyone was in wonderful and very grateful spirits,” says the insider. “Jada and Will’s celebration kept going, as it then carried on to Sunday when their hometowns squared off in the big game, when the Philadelphia Eagles played the Baltimore Ravens.”
The insider adds, “And Will’s team won — which he didn’t let anyone forget!”
Will, 56, shared a fun video on Dec. 1 highlighting the playful rivalry among the family during the NFL game. The Oscar winner, of course, was raised in Philly, while Jada, 53, grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. “This is a sensitive situation for our family,” Will joked in the video.
On Thanksgiving, Jada shared a video of herself basking in the sun, writing simply “Grateful” in the caption. In the clip, she says to her followers, “Happy day of thanks and gratitude. I’m sending you all so much love.”
Will and Jada got married in 1997, and while rolling out her bestselling book Worthy last year, Jada revealed that they’ve been separated since 2016 but plan to remain married.
In May, Jada and the whole family showed up to support Will at the Los Angeles red carpet premiere of his action sequel Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which went on to be a box office hit.
Jada spoke about the importance of family in an October 2023 interview with The New York Times, explaining it’s always what keeps her bond with Will strong.
“We wanted to create a family we never had, and we did that. And we enjoy our family. For us, our marriage is like a cornerstone of that for now. Who knows in 10 years,” she said at the time, adding with a laugh, “We’ve tried everything to get away from each other, and we just don’t.”
