The Valley’s Jasmine Goode Engaged to Melissa Marie After Separate Proposals in Italy
The Valley star Jasmine Goode and her longtime girlfriend Melissa Marie are engaged.
The couple, who have been together for four years, announced their engagement on Wednesday, Nov. 27, Us Weekly reports. They proposed to each other during their Italian vacation.
“It was really crazy because we both have been thinking about getting engaged and looking at rings for a while now. We were just trying to find the right time and place to do it,” Goode, 37, told the outlet. “Before I could even propose to her, she surprised me, which I was blown away [by].”
“Once [we booked our tickets for] Mallorca, I was like, ‘Oh, I think she might try to use this opportunity to propose,” Marie said. “But I wanted to give her a special proposal because she deserves it. It wasn’t just about what I wanted.”
Marie proposed at Villa Monastero in Lake Como and found a “spot that is notorious for best views and best sunsets.”
Goode was surprised by the engagement and worried Marie thought that Goode didn’t have a ring for her. “I was trying to figure out how to keep this under wraps for a day,” and as a result, she pretended that she “didn’t have a ring” for Marie.
While Marie was unaware Goode was also going to pop the question, their costars from The Valley, including Brittany Cartwright, Kristen Doute and Zack Wickham, were all checking with Goode to see if she had asked. Goode confirmed once she did, they told their costars. “They’re so excited and I love how supportive they’ve all been,” Goode said.
Marie revealed that they spoke to Wickham about rings, and he joined Goode for ring shopping. She noted that Doute knew the proposal was imminent and was “very anxiously waiting.”
After the pair announced their engagement, Doute, who revealed she was expecting her first child earlier this week, commented on Goode’s Instagram post: “This really is the best week ever 🥹💕💕 i love you babes!!”
“Congratulations I love you both sooo much and am so happy for you!” Cartwright gushed on her Instagram Stories.
Marie said that she knew Goode was the one when they “first started dating” in 2020, when she moved from New Jersey to L.A. “After, like, one or two dates, I decided to stay a little longer and then I ended up just moving,” she told Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, Goode said she knew Marie would be her wife the moment they met.
“She was dating someone but then we started dating, and there was just a moment where I was like, ‘She’s the one,’ ” Goode told Us Weekly. “I remember telling someone that I was going to marry Melissa. I just didn’t know when, but I knew it was going to happen.”
