Brianna LaPaglia—also known as Brianna Chickenfry—shared that she felt “discarded” by Zach Bryan when he went public with their breakup only one day after their split.
Brianna LaPaglia is taking time to heal after her split from Zach Bryan.
Especially after her breakup from the country music star was announced without her approval.
On Oct. 22, the “Pink Skies” singer shared that he and the Barstool Sports host—also known as Brianna Chickenfry—had split after a year of dating, but according to Brianna, she wasn’t ready for that information to be made public just yet.
“I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up,” she revealed in an Oct. 22 YouTube video. “I had no idea that post was going up. He didn’t text me, he didn’t call me. I just woke up to a bunch of texts being like, ‘Are you okay?'”
The 25-year-old shared that she had been crying for “five days straight” and was feeling completely blindsided by Zach’s post.
“How can you give every ounce of yourself to someone,” she asked, “and then be discarded of in a few days?”
According to Brianna, she and Zach—who were first linked together in summer 2023—”broke up yesterday,” and she wasn’t ready to “talk about details right now,” but would when she was ready.
“I wanted to heal privately,” she added, “and I didn’t even know that he was gonna post that.”
Brianna thanked her fans for all of their kind messages, but also asked that they respect her privacy at this time.
“I’m gonna be okay,” she continued. “I’m gonna be fine. I’m just obviously really, really hurt right now. And I wanted to just, like, be hurt for a week and lay in bed, and I just didn’t want it to be public.”
She added, “I love you guys a lot. Thank you all the kind people, and thank you, I mean, genuinely, just to everyone reaching out to me.”
Shortly before Brianna’s video, Zach announced on his Instagram Story that the couple had decided to part ways.
“Brianna and me have broken up with eachother [sic] and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” the 29-year-old wrote. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.”
The Grammy winner—who finalized his divorce from ex Rose Madden in 2021—added that he’d had an “incredibly hard year personally” and that he “thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways.”
The day of their breakup, Brianna had posted a handwritten to Instagram, which read in part, “And eventually you’ll find that life goes on, even if you don’t want it to. The days will pass and the world will move while you ask it to stop.”
