Rita Ora is switching up her look!
The “Let You Love Me” singer, 34, hit the 2024 British Fashion Awards red carpet on Monday, Dec. 2 in a head-turning ensemble — and debuted a striking new hairstyle.
Ora arrived at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the event, which is hosted by the British Fashion Council and presented by Pandora, in an ‘80s and punk-inspired look. She wore a baggy gray suit, piles of chunky silver accessories and spiky blonde mullet — plus, matching bleached brows to hit the transformation home.
A departure from her previously long, dirty-blonde tresses, the mullet was not confirmed to be a new style or a wig. And, though the gravity-defying ‘do was undoubtedly the show-stopper of the look, Ora’s red-carpet ‘fit was bold from head to toe.
The star teamed an oversize suit gray jacket and baggy dress trousers in a darker shade of gray. Under the double-breasted jacket — which she buttoned only at the bottom for a more loose-fitting, casual vibe — she added a pop of pastel with some mismatching patterns.
The Masked Singer alum rocked a salmon-colored polka dot tie layered over a striped button-up top, and tied in even more shades of gray with stacks of chunky silver bangles. Also silver were her ear bling — she wore a pair of chunky spiral earrings that poked through both of her piercings.
On her hands, meanwhile, Ora mixed metals but kept things chunky and stacked, crowding her fingers with gold, silver and jeweled rings.
She tied the metallic accents together even further with her bold glam, a shimmery rust-colored lip and bold, dark eye look that popped against her bleached brows and tresses.
Ever-bold in her style choices, the “For You” singer debuted a similarly show-stopping — and spiky, but in a very different way — look at last year’s British Fashion Awards.
At the 2023 event, Ora turned heads on the red carpet in a simple and elegant black dress whose low back revealed a jagged chrome spine covering her back.
The singer kept the spotlight on her spiky and unique spine accessory by leaving not only her dress but also her glam comparably simple, sporting neutral makeup and a messy updo. And, tying in more metallic details, chrome nails, silver earrings and metallic bangles finished off her look.
Ora also offered a peek into how she got ready for the 2023 event — and put together one of its most talked-about looks — in a video on Instagram at the time, revealing that it took two to three hours to put the spine prosthetic on.
“Now last year, I don’t know if you remember, we made some noise, because we did a prosthetic, really cool thing on my face,” Ora said in the clip, referring to the gill-like prosthetics she rocked in 2022 to give a mermaid-like appearance.
“But this time,” she said, “we’re going bigger: a silver chrome spine.”
