Prince Andrew’s new reality is a lonely one.
The disgraced Duke of York’s inner circle has been shrinking rapidly ever since he found himself in an eviction war with his older brother, King Charles.
Andrew, 64, has been keeping a low profile at his plush royal digs, resulting in his social circle dwindling.
As a result, he now “barely goes out” and is “not that welcome anywhere,” sources told the Daily Mail.
“He just doesn’t have that many friends anymore,” the insider added.
Though he’s been enjoying the company of his horse in recent weeks, the nonworking royal family member — whose HRH title was stripped by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II — has only had a handful of public appearances in the last few years.
Indeed, it’s been reported that Andrew had become “increasingly clingy” with his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, after being financially cut off by Charles.
“Andrew is like a lost puppy these days, constantly leaning on [ex-wife] Sarah [Ferguson] and their daughters for emotional support,” a palace source told InTouch last month.
“He’s become increasingly clingy, reaching out to them every chance he gets, almost as if they’re his only lifeline.”
Andrew’s daughters, who both have families of their own, are two of the very few members still giving the scandal-scarred royal the time of day.
“While Sarah and the girls are sympathetic to a point, they also have their own lives to manage,” the insider said, adding that Beatrice and Eugenie have felt a “strain” following their father’s PR nightmare.
Andrew was poised to leave the Royal Lodge after the king refused to continue financially carrying his brother’s weight.
However, it sensationally emerged last month that the disgraced royal had found a mystery financial backer at the eleventh hour — allowing him and Ferguson to remain at the sprawling property.
Since finding the anonymous backer, Andrew has faced calls from the UK government to reveal the source of his newfound funding — something he has yet to do.
Exactly where the father of two got the funding to remain at the property is still unclear, as his only known steady income source is his Royal Navy pension.
The ordeal has left the monarch, 76, “fed up” — and prompted him to start removing valuables from the estate due to maintenance and security concerns.
Andrew has been living off an allowance from the king’s personal wealth since 2019 after he was linked to disgraced late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
His list of expenses includes $4 million worth of personal security per year, as well as a regular cash allowance — both of which Charles is no longer paying for.
