Pamela Anderson Rocks a Bare Face at the 2024 Gotham Awards, Says Makeup ‘Doesn’t Really Make Sense’ for Her
Pamela Anderson brought her glow to the Gotham Awards.
The former Baywatch star, 57, attended the 2024 Gotham Film Awards at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Monday, Dec 2, donning a strapless butter yellow gown with a large bow in the back. She kept her accessories simple with diamond studs, no makeup, and hair long and loose.
Anderson — who is nominated for her role in The Last Showgirl — spoke to PEOPLE exclusively about what it felt like wearing makeup for the film even though she now regularly opts for a makeup-free lifestyle off-screen.
“I mean — I wear — I love to wear makeup too sometimes,” she told PEOPLE while walking the red carpet, adding, “It has a time and a place. I just feel in my personal life, it just didn’t really make sense.”
As for what beauty means to her, it’s all about what comes from the inside.
“Being brave and living your dreams. It’s never too late,” she told PEOPLE.
The yellow gown continues the streak of simple yet elegant ensembles from the Love, Pamela: A Memoir author, who has recently been opting for monochromatic styles.
On Nov. 7, the actress was spotted at the Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles wearing a white silk button-down blouse and matching wide-legged trousers. She accessorized with white pumps and stud earrings.
Anderson also opted for elegant simplicity while attending the Zurich Film Festival on Oct. 4, 2024. The former model donned a baby pink dress and shawl courtesy of Elie Saab. She capped of the look with pink pointed-toe heels and minimal jewelry.
Anderson first debuted her natural glow at the Isabel Marant fashion show on Sept. 28, 2023 during Paris Fashion Week, where she donned a vibrant yellow tank dress, hair falling loosely below her shoulders. She told Vogue France she didn’t want to “compete with the clothes,” when explaining her decision to wear no makeup at the time.
The Gotham Film Awards is an annual industry event that provides recognition for outstanding voices in storytelling, including writers, actors, directors and producers. Anderson is nominated for her starring role in The Last Showgirl, a film about a Las Vegas showgirl named Shelly whose future is left unknown when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run. Critics have called Anderson’s performance “transformative.”
Other nominees include Nicole Kidman, Demi Moore, Pamela Anderson, Saoirse Ronan, and Justice Smith.
