Fans Notice Prince Harry’s New American Accent in Latest Clip: ‘He Totally Sounds Different Now’

It looks as though Prince Harry is losing some of his original accent if a recent clip is anything to go by.

The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle said goodbye to royal duties over four years ago. That’s when they decided to move to the USA and settle under the sunny skies of Montecito, California.

Harry has spoken openly about his joy at living in the states with his wife and two children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3. During an interview with Good Morning American back in February, he stated that he “loves every single day” in the USA.

Now, fans believe that living in the States is rubbing off on Harry and that he has an American accent. During a two-minute long skit with Jelly Roll filmed at New York tattoo parlour East Side Ink, fans online pointed out that Harry is also using American sayings.

“Prince Harry’s British accent sounds more diluted to make way for the American accent,” wrote on fan, while another added: “He totally has an American accent now.”

Another wrote: “It sounds like Prince Harry is losing his British accent.”

Harry filmed the clip to promote The Invictus Games

The clip featuring Harry and Jelly Roll was filmed to promote The Invictus Games. In it, Harry uses several American sayings, calling the tattoo artist “dude” and saying: “That [tattoo] feels big man.”

He then states: “You put your name on my neck,” while raising his voice at the end of the sentence, something that is commonly done in the USA.

Harry also states that the tattoo could be put on his “a**”, rather than the English saying of “a***”.

Speaking with the Telegraph, communication coach Anthony Shuster stated: “You notice that there’s a huge difference between the way the King speaks and the way these guys speak.

“It’s not exactly the stiff upper lip… There’s very little articulation at all.”
