Portnoy defended Swift last month after the superstar endorsed Kamala Harris
They may not see eye to eye on everything, but Dave Portnoy is a Swiftie through and through.
After attending Taylor Swift’s sold-out Eras Tour show in Miami over the weekend, the Barstool Sports founder — who was spotted in the VIP section — shared a handwritten letter from the superstar on his Instagram account.
“It was spectacular… just an amazing night,” he said in a video, addressing criticism that he’s not a “real” fan.
“I did get in the VIP section, which was amazing,” continued Portnoy, 47, showing fans the letter Swift’s brother, Austin, “hand-delivered” to him at the concert.
Portnoy revealed he also shared a meaningful hug with the singer’s mom, Andrea, at the show and “sat next to Billy Joel.”
The BFFs pod shared the full note on Sunday, Oct. 20, captioning the post, “What a gift from @taylorswift to @stoolpresidente at last night’s Eras Tour.”
“Dave, I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight! I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t. I hope you have a blast tonight!!” wrote Swift, 34, whose stationary is signed “songwriter/feline enthusiast.”
While Portnoy is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, he defended Swift on X in September after the Grammy winner publicly endorsed Kamala Harris.
“As the king of the Swifties people are asking me what I think of her Kamala endorsement. I don’t care at all,” wrote Portnoy. “People can vote for whoever they want in this country. How somebody votes will never change my opinion of a person. I’m voting the other way but to each their own.”
Portnoy doubled down on his support of Swift on his post-concert Instagram video, saying, “Not everyone agrees on every issue, politics, whatever it may be, world views — Swifties is about love and supporting Taylor,” he said. “Somebody comes at Taylor? All bets off.”
