Breaking Down Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Cleaning Cart: Featuring an ‘Animal of the Day’ Poster and More
Ever since Taylor Swift kicked off her Eras Tour, fans have had questions about the infamous cleaning cart — and now we’re getting answers.
For the uninitiated, Swift, 34, is transported to the stage via an unassuming black “cleaning cart” before popping out to perform. However, it is not an ordinary place to store brooms and mops.
As seen in her Official Eras Tour Book, which hit Target shelves on Friday, November 29, the cart has been decked out for Swift’s comfort. There is a cushioned seat and a green handle on the roof to hold onto.
There are also several cat posters — Swift is a famed feline aficionado, owning three purr-fect pets herself — affixed inside. One is a homemade “Animal of the Day” sign, which in the book, bestowed the honor to Swift’s pet Meredith Grey.
In addition to the cat memorabilia, there was also a postcard image of a waterfront city. Eagle-eyed social media sleuths deduced that it was a picture of Cardiff, Wales, where Swift performed this past summer.
“I did not expect Taylor to have a picture of Cardiff in the cleaning cart,” one fan wrote via TikTok.
Other Swifties speculated that Swift and her team rotate postcards based on the city in which they are performing at the time. (Swift’s Eras Tour started in March 2023 and wraps later this month, traversing multiple continents.)
Swift wrote her Eras Tour Book to break down the show from her point of view.
“I’ll never forget the call when I explained my idea of the concept for The Eras Tour to my team,” she penned in the prologue. “At the time, I was working on the Midnights album and if we were to do what I’ve always done, I would’ve embarked on planning The Midnights Tour. But there’s nothing I hate more than doing what I’ve always done.”
In the book, Swift charts how she conceptualized each “era” of the setlist, and shared never-before-seen pictures from backstage.
