Amy Robach knows that T.J. Holmes wants to be the one to pop the question.
While answering fan questions on the Dec. 8 episode of their Amy & T.J. podcast, the former GMA3: What You Need to Know anchors were asked when they would tie the knot.
“It’s not an if, it’s a when. I like that. I actually appreciate that,” Robach, 51, said of their wedding plans before adding, “T.J., you told me that I should never propose to you.”
“Propose to me?” Holmes asked, sounding puzzled, and Robach clarified, “Remember, we were talking about women proposing to men? But I’m just saying that if I answer this, I feel like that’d be kind of in part me saying when I would like to get married.”
“We don’t have a date, obviously, and we haven’t even decided what we’re going to do,” she added. “But because if I said I want to and I’d like to in the fall [and] that would be akin to me proposing to you.”
When pressed if she wanted to get married in the fall, she countered telling him to “answer the question.”
“When? Sooner rather than later. And I say that based on my exclusive conversations with the bride,” Holmes, 47, answered with a laugh. “I say that because we’re not trying to figure things out.”
He continued: “We are not trying to see if we want to be together. We’re not trying to do a trial run to see if this thing can work. That’s not where we are. So the decision has been made to spend a life together.”
He then called marriage “a byproduct of what’s happening,” adding, “And it’s coming.”
“We’ve talked about marriage,” Robach shared. “We haven’t talked about a wedding. And there is a difference between the two.”
Their comments come more than two months after the couple confirmed they were living together on the Sept. 30 episode of their podcast.
Updating fans on his and Robach’s “living situation,” Holmes shared they are officially cohabitating. He added that they go “back and forth” between their respective apartments as they’re within walking distance, and Robach confirmed they’ve been living together for “the past few weeks.”
In May, the couple discussed whether they would ever tie the knot.
“I wanna marry you. I don’t need to. I want to be married to you. And that’s such a different thing as we sit here and talk about engagement rings and joint accounts,” said Holmes on an episode of their podcast.
Robach and Holmes have reached several relationship milestones together after they first sparked dating rumors in November 2022.
At the time, Robach was married to actor Andrew Shue, while Holmes was married to attorney Marilee Fiebig. Robach and Holmes were also placed on hiatus from their former positions at GMA3: What You Need to Know. However, the couple denied cheating on their now-former spouses. A source also told PEOPLE that there was no overlap between their romance and their respective marriages.
A year later, they announced their new podcast and made their first red carpet debut together.
