PSY rocks out with ‘Gangnam Style’
GENfest took place on November 23 and 24 in Ho Chi Minh City. This year’s program continued to feature famous Korean guests such as PSY, Hwasa, Loco… PSY seemed excited to perform in Vietnam for the first time. He brought a set of 6 performances, including hits such as: Gangnam Style, Gentleman, That That… The Korean dancers that PSY brought to Vietnam also made a difference. However, the Korean star’s performance took place quite late (nearly 12am), so part of the audience decided to leave. That left a regret for the show.

In addition, Vietnamese artists such as Chi Pu, Suboi, Karik, HIEUTHUHAI, tlinh, Wren Evans… also brought to the event elaborate sets in both audio and visual aspects. Tlinh stood out with a set of 17 performances with 8 guests, spanning many genres/styles, from R&B to rap, from lyrical, feminine to explosive street hiphop. However, technical problems more or less affected the female artist’s performance. For example, in the performance True Lie , Justatee’s mic had a problem, making it almost impossible for the audience to hear his voice throughout the performance. Wren Evans also caused excitement when performing 3 new songs with the promise of an album in the near future. However, he revealed his weakness in live singing. The audience had difficulty hearing Wren Evans’ voice at high notes, especially in the performance where he played and sang the new song. Suboi, Wxrdie… also have 45-minute sets.
