Adele, the world’s top singer who has won 15 Grammy awards, revealed that she suffered from a serious infection and was in so much pain that she wanted to cut off her ear many times.
During her performance at the Colosseum Theater in Las Vegas, Adele surprised everyone by revealing her current health condition. The British nightingale shared that she had just gone through a serious illness, enduring extreme pain.
Adele revealed she suffered hearing loss due to a severe ear infection.
“I had a very serious ear infection. I’ve had such a bad infection before. It was the most terrible pain I’ve ever had in my life, it was worse than giving birth,” she said.
Adele shared that while on tour in Munich, she accidentally contracted a rare and difficult-to-treat waterborne bacteria that led to an ear infection. Using the wrong antibiotics made the condition worse, causing such excruciating pain that Adele once considered having her ear amputated to end the pain.
Fortunately, the disease was eventually treated successfully, but Adele still lost part of her hearing on her left side.
In addition to sharing about her health, Adele said she was surprised to find Celine Dion sitting in the audience with the singer’s two sons – Nelson and Eddy Angélil. Adele got off the stage, emotionally hugged her idol, and expressed her gratitude for Celine Dion attending her concert.
She also asked the audience to give a round of applause for the legendary singer. Celine Dion shed tears, stood up and waved to the audience at the Colosseum theater – where she performed more than 20 years ago. On her personal page, Adele said that Celine Dion’s visit to the show meant a lot to her: “I have been singing in Celine Dion’s auditorium at the Colosseum for almost two years now, and will be wrapping up the show in four weeks. This is the only place I want to perform in Las Vegas because it was built for her. I have a picture of her next to the stage. Every night before the show, I touch the picture and then this weekend, she came. It was a big surprise for me,” the Hello singer wrote.
