Jennifer Aniston Responds to J.D. Vance’s ‘Childless Cat Lady’ Remark, Reveals She Voted for Kamala Harris
Jennifer Aniston has cast her ballot in the 2024 presidential election — and she “proudly voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
In a post on Instagram Wednesday, Oct. 30, the Friends star shared that she has made her choice, and she encouraged others to vote as well.
“Today not only did I vote for access to health care, for reproductive freedom, for equal rights, for safe schools, and for a fair economy, but also for SANITY and HUMAN DECENCY,” Aniston, 55, wrote.
The Friends star continued, “Please remember that whoever you are and wherever you live, your voice matters. Your VOTE matters.”
Aniston’s announcement comes three months after she first spoke out regarding the Republican ticket and vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance’s controversial opinion about women without children.
After hearing Vance’s resurfaced 2021 comments suggesting women like Kamala Harris who have not given birth are “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives,” Aniston wrote that she “truly can’t believe” that Vance could become the next vice president.
“All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day,” Aniston, who has shared her personal IVF story in the past, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, July 24.
“I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option,” Aniston continued. “Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”
In her Instagram post on Wednesday, The Morning Show star alluded to the country’s current divisiveness, and made a plea for her followers and others to heed Harris’ egalitarian vision.
“I know we don’t agree on everything, and that is the beauty of this country, but GOOD LORD aren’t you tired of this negativity towards each other?” Aniston wrote. “The intimidation and constant threats to those who do not think the same as the other?”
She added, “Let’s please end this era of fear, chaos and the attacks on our democracy – and vote for someone who will unite us and not continue to threaten to divide us 🙏🏼”.
