Ahead of the release of his album F-1 Trillion, Post Malone shared details about his private relationship with his 2-year-old daughter and fiancée, to whom he announced his engagement in 2022.

Post Malone knows he’s better off now, and it’s thanks to the women in his life.

While the “Rockstar” singer (real name Austin Post) keeps many details about his family private—including the names of his fiancée and their 2-year-old daughter—he recently shared insight into his journey to fatherhood.

“It changes your life in the best way ever,” Post said in an Aug. 11 segment on CBS Sunday Morning . “And the best part is she’s an amazing mom.”

And the 29-year-old explained that his partner and daughter have had an incredibly positive impact on him, as well as his struggles with loneliness.

“Four years ago, I was on a rough road,” he detailed, noting that his daily routine included crying and drinking. “It was horrible. I don’t feel that way anymore and it’s the best thing ever.”

Glowing as he spoke about his family, Post—who has his daughter’s initials “DDP” tattooed on his forehead—also explained why he chose to sing about her future wedding day.

“I think about it a lot,” Post admitted, before noting that he’s written “a lot of songs” about his daughter.

While his latest comments have been making the rounds for two weeks, Post has been vocal about how his family has inspired him to live a healthier and happier life.

“Having kids has really helped me put things in perspective, and it’s really slowed me down a lot, in terms of partying and going out and going crazy,” he explained in an interview with Apple Music in 2023.

“I never really had the time or really had the bandwidth to experience the journey to the fullest. So I guess that’s what I’m trying to do now.”

So what does Post focus on most? Quality time with his kids and their mom.

“I really like playing with my kids, playing with my wife, playing video games, working in my garage on projects,” he added to Apple Music. “That’s what I like to do.”
