The final faces of Rap Viet were officially revealed through the final episode of the Conquest round aired on the evening of October 20. The lineup of each team was officially completed. However, at the end of the Conquest round, Suboi’s team was at a disadvantage with only 7 people, while the remaining 3 coaches all had 8 members.

In episode 5, Suboi announced that this year she came to Rap Viet with a very new mindset and direction. And through what this female coach showed, JustaTee saw that Suboi is aiming for trendy music.

Specifically, contestant YP was only given one choice from Suboi. When Tran Thanh asked why she chose this rapper, Suboi explained: “This color in my team already has 2 female rappers. I hope you will create surprises in the next rounds. I like the way you mix melodic, very moderately”. Hearing this, JustaTee commented that this year Suboi is calculating the viral music interface. Tran Thanh continued: “Su has Su’s chessboard”.

Two other contestants chosen by Suboi for her team in episode 5 also have youthful, catchy music that can easily go viral on social networks, namely QueenB and Danmy.

QueenB opened episode 5 with a performance called “Vo Tu Di” . Starting with a strange and attractive intro, QueenB stirred up the stage with catchy music, a memorable and repetitive hook, flow, and attractive voice. However, QueenB’s lyrics were only entertaining and did not have many highlights. Thai VG expressed his love for the contestant’s energetic flow. According to the judges, every part of QueenB’s performance was good, but if she had a more solid flow, this would have been the perfect performance. All 4 coaches pressed the button to choose QueenB and then competed to convince this contestant to join their team.

Even when he saw that QueenB was suitable for Suboi’s team, BRay did not give up the opportunity. He even promised to help QueenB have more impressive lyrics. Meanwhile, Karik declared: “I think you have enough. Don’t care about what people say. I don’t know if you can control yourself, but I have to press the button to show respect for you. Otherwise, I feel like I will go against my conscience.” In the end, QueenB was brought to Suboi’s team.

With Danmy, she has a performance called Giông bao based on the sample Ngay chua gio bao . The female rapper attracts with her unique voice, impressive delivery, confidence, and stage control, but her flow and lyrics are still simple. In the end, Danmy conquered 3 coaches, except for BRay.

In her comments to Danmy, Suboi stated that this year she came to Rap Viet with a very different preparation than previous years. She added that she is working with a producer who is sure about pop music and is experimenting with many different genres. “If you join Suboi’s team, I really hope to be able to show the audience your other beauty,” Suboi told Danmy.

However, as soon as Suboi finished speaking, Karik from behind suddenly gave her the golden lock, meaning Suboi was “forbidden” to persuade or say anything. Without wasting the golden lock, Karik got the beautiful and talented female contestant.

JustaTee clone rocks the stage

Fueled with energy and confidence from his seniors in the DG House team RHYDER, Coolkid came to Rap Viet with an attractive melodic rap performance. However, similar to RHYDER, Coolkid tends to sing more than rap even though the rapper’s melody is attractive. This is also the reason why Karik did not choose this contestant.

As the first person to choose Coolkid, BRay shared that he likes his juniors’ confidence and stage presence. Coolkids’ song selection is also classy, ​​and they can rap and sing well.

“When you stepped on stage, I wondered if it was version 2. Having a friend who competed before you be very famous is a worrying thing. However, when I got deeper into the song, I realized that Coolkid was Coolkid, not the teammate standing below (referring to RHYDER),” Suboi shared. Meanwhile, Coolkid reminded BigDaddy of JustaTee because of the way he handled the melody and followed the beat.

“From the beginning of the show until now, I think he used samples most effectively. Last year, RHYDER received a lot of criticism for not rapping much. But then, RHYDER conquered the path of Rap Viet and responded with his music. Therefore, today you have to understand that the 3 coaches here took quite a risk when choosing you. We want to see you rap more,” Big Daddy declared.

After asking for help and advice from RHYDER, the judges decided to put Coolkid on team BRay.

Completely different from his cute appearance, Nhat Hoang brought a sad, story-telling rap called Uoc Uoc based on the sample Den gio mem . Nhat Hoang’s delivery was full of emotion, depicting the loneliness, regret and darkness deep inside the heart of a lone LGBT boy in a poor alley. There, he longed to see his parents again but could only see, talk to, and even argue with them through his dreams. This performance conquered BigDaddy and Suboi. BigDaddy was the coach assigned by the judges to this 24-year-old contestant.

After Nhat Hoang’s performance, BigDaddy and BRay’s team had 8 members. Meanwhile, Karik and Suboi’s team only had 7 members. However, Billy100 was the last contestant, closing the Conquest round.

Bringing to the Listening to the Heart competition , Billy100 left an impression on the audience and all the judges and coaches with his confidence and unexpected “sharp turn” in changing flow. The male rapper received 4 choices from 4 coaches and 91% of the votes. Although there were no more chances to choose a contestant, BRay and BigDaddy still chose to show their love for this contestant’s talent.

Commenting on the male contestant’s performance, Coach BRay praised Billy100’s obvious improvement in music and skills and he firmly wanted to bring Billy100 to his team. In conclusion, JustaTee decided to bring Billy100 to Coach Karik’s team and believed that the two had the same energy. Karik would help the male contestant improve in the next round.

At the end of episode 5, Suboi was the only team with only 7 members. She also had more female contestants than the other teams (3 people), while BigDaddy’s team only had male rappers.
