Min Pechaya and Other Thai Stars Arrested in The iCon Group Case: No Food or Drink During Detention
On October 18, The iCon Group incident had many new details and developments. With the seriousness of at least 700 people filing complaints (as of October 16), and involving 3 stars Sam Yuranunt Pamornmontri, Kan Kantathavorn and Min Pechaya, the incident has caused a stir in recent days.
Life in prison
According to Mgronline , the 18 detainees in the case of The iCon Group were divided into Bangkok Special Prison (men) and a prison for female prisoners. A source revealed that when she was with other female suspects in the same case, Min Pechaya talked and discussed with them. Meanwhile, Sam Yuranunt Pamornmontri and Kan Kantathavorn were in the same cell but did not talk much.
“Everyone took a shower this morning. At the women’s prison, lunch was porridge and everyone asked about the principles and procedures for visiting, buying personal items and meeting lawyers. The correctional officers explained the information to everyone. It is expected that today there may be a lawyer visiting or asking relatives to buy things for them. However, the lawyers can only talk online. They will come to the prison and go to another room to talk on video call for about 30 minutes. The reason is that the suspects are still in the Covid-19 isolation room,” the source told Mgronline .
Ms. Kanokwan Jiewchuephan, Director of the Central Women’s Correctional Service, said that the seven female suspects arrived at the detention center at around 8 p.m. on October 17. After entering, they were fingerprinted, had their medical histories and health checked. Food including chicken soup and rice was prepared, but no one ate it.

When asked about Min Pechaya’s current condition, Ms. Kanokwan Jiewchuephan said: “Min does not show any signs of stress, but I am sure she is quite worried. Because inside the prison, there are many rules and regulations that must be applied and adapted. However, there are also officers who come to guide the suspects.”
Speaking further with Khaosod , Mr. Chuchat Kanpai, Min Pechaya’s lawyer, shared that the actress is still very worried and has not been able to adapt.
“I still encourage and motivate her because she insists that she did nothing wrong. Currently, she eats very little because she has gastritis. It is a disease she has had for a long time. We have contacted her relatives to bring her medicine,” the lawyer said.
Mr. Chuchat said that Min Pechaya has not requested to see anyone at this time other than her relatives. However, she will have to wait until the quarantine is over before she can meet. When asked if Min Pechaya has cut her hair, the lawyer replied that neither the actress nor the other female suspects have cut their hair. However, the star born in 1989 must wear a prison uniform. Meanwhile, the male suspects have been asked to cut their hair short.
Mr. Pramote Thongsri, a punishment expert and Acting Commissioner of Bangkok Remand Prison, said that on the evening of October 17, after receiving a group of 10 male suspects into the prison, they followed the usual procedures, namely a health check, taking medical history and placing them in a quarantine area for 5 days.
Both Sam Yuranunt and Kan Kantathavorn are in good health and are asking to see their families. Pramote added that the first menu for the male suspects was spicy fish curry with eggplant and kale stir-fried with chicken. By the morning of October 18, the menu was green chicken curry with cucumber and white rice.
Property of 3 stars confiscated
Khaosod reported that police seized assets from all 18 suspects, including 23 luxury cars, gold, 121 handbags, designer clothes, as well as 39 electronic devices, land titles and other valuables. The total value of the seized assets was more than 219 million baht ( $6.6 million ).
According to Thai media, this is only the initial confiscation of assets. More valuable assets may be seized in the coming days as authorities continue to expand the investigation. Some cases related to the case have converted their cash into digital currency to make the investigation more difficult.

Among them, MC and actor Kan Kantathavorn had a black Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 416 CDI Panel Van, 2020 model, and a red Porsche Cayman S E-Hybrid 2014 confiscated. In addition, he had two other cars, an iPad mini, and many products of The iCon Group with a total value of more than 17 million baht confiscated. Meanwhile, Sam Yuranunt Pamornmontri only had an electronic device worth 20,000 baht confiscated.
As for Min Pechaya, her seized property was a travel bag worth 125,000 baht.
Also on the afternoon of October 18, when appearing at a press conference, Film Thanapat Kawila, Min Pechaya and Sam Yuranunt’s co-star in the film Canh Bac Tinh Ai, admitted that he was personally affected by the incident. However, the actor tried his best as an actor and the film has been completed. He hopes that the audience will support and continue to follow the developments of the film.
