Shocking Allegation: R. Kelly’s Daughter Claims Sexual Assault Against Him!
Singer R. Kelly – who is serving a decades-long prison sentence for sex-related crimes – was accused by his daughter of inappropriate behavior in the past.
People reported in the newly released documentary Karma: A Daughter’s Journey that Buku Abi – the eldest daughter of R. Kelly and his ex-wife Andrea Danyell Lee – was sexually abused by her famous father when she was about 8 or 9 years old.
Abi, now 26, tearfully recalled: “I just remember waking up and him touching me. I didn’t know what to do, so I just lay there and pretended to be asleep.”
Abi said that sometimes she couldn’t believe what the Ignition singer had done to her own daughter and that she didn’t even want to believe that such a thing had happened. “Because he had given me so much,” she shared.
“I didn’t know that even if my father was a bad person, he would do something to his daughter. I was too scared to tell anyone. I was too scared to tell my mother,” Abi added.
Affirming that all of the above information is true, Abi said that when she was 10 years old, she and her mother filed an anonymous complaint with the police, accusing R. Kelly. However, the case was not brought to trial.
Also in the documentary, the female musician affirmed that being abused by her father caused her to struggle with health problems.
R. Kelly’s attorney Jennifer Bonjean vehemently denied the allegations. She told People : “R. Kelly’s ex-wife made similar allegations years ago, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services has found them to be baseless.”
R. Kelly, the revered “R&B kingpin,” was convicted of sex trafficking and extortion in 2022. In 2023, he was convicted in a child pornography case.
R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison for extortion and eight counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits the transportation of “any woman or girl” across state lines. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison — with 19 years to run concurrently to the first sentence — for three counts of producing child pornography related to videos of him sexually abusing his goddaughter and three counts of soliciting a minor for sex.
According to Page Six , the I Believe I Can Fly singer will be eligible for parole in 2045, when he will be nearly 80 years old.
In a recent statement, attorney Jennifer Bonjean revealed that her client is appealing the verdict in New York.
