The world’s richest female singer wears a feminine, flowing design by a Vietnamese brand at her relative’s wedding.
According to Elle Magazine , Taylor Swift recently wore a jungle-patterned A-line mini-dress at her cousin’s wedding. This outfit is part of the Vietnamese brand’s Spring-Summer 2020 collection, designed by Diep Yen.
The outfit was inspired by the paintings of William Morris, an Art Nouveau artist who created a fusion of nature and creativity from the late 19th century. On the website, this item is listed at $218 .
The above image has gone viral on social media in Vietnam, with many amused comments. Many people did not expect a billionaire like Taylor Swift to prefer wearing affordable clothes, especially from local Vietnamese brands.
On October 6, Forbes announced that Taylor Swift officially surpassed Rihanna to become the richest female singer in the world with a fortune of 1.6 billion USD (an increase of 300 million USD in just 6 months). In the world of artists, Swift’s fortune is only behind hip-hop mogul Jay-Z (worth 2.5 billion USD ) and “TV queen” Oprah Winfrey ( 3 billion USD ).
Swift is the first artist to become a billionaire largely through music, including revenue from her world tour The Eras Tour. Spanning five continents, The Eras Tour began in March 2023 and became the first tour in U.S. history to gross more than $1 billion. It is expected to benefit the U.S. economy by an estimated $5.3 billion by 2023.
The success of The Eras Tour propelled Taylor Swift into the ranks of billionaires for the first time in October 2023. Forbes said the singer earned $600 million from touring and royalties alone.
Swift has long been known as a “money printing machine” when she has been on the list of the best-earning stars 6 times. Not only is she rich, Swift also has great influence. The proof is that the female singer has risen in the top of the most powerful women voted by Forbes , from 79th place (in 2022) to 5th place this year.
