Celine Dion Brought to Tears by Kelly Clarkson’s Stunning Rendition of ‘My Heart Will Go On’
Celine Dion’s heartfelt admiration for Kelly Clarkson was on full display in a recent video shared on her X page. The Canadian singing icon reacted to Clarkson’s stunning cover of Dion’s iconic song “My Heart Will Go On,” which aired during a recent episode of Clarkson’s daytime talk show.
In the touching clip, Dion revealed that she had just witnessed Clarkson’s performance, which took place during the “Kellyoke” segment of the show last month. Clearly moved, Dion expressed her emotions, saying, “I just saw you singing ‘My Heart Will Go On,’ and I’m crying again. You were absolutely incredible, fantastic. I loved it so much.”
Dion’s return to the stage earlier this year came after overcoming significant health challenges that led to a break from performing. She made a grand comeback, delivering a breathtaking rendition of Edith Piaf’s “L’Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
During the same Olympic broadcast, Clarkson served as a commentator alongside Peyton Manning and Mike Tirico. Viewers could see her visibly moved by Dion’s performance, as she struggled to find her words. “I actually can’t talk right now,” Clarkson admitted, her voice trembling. “If you know anything about Celine right now, this is her purpose… That she got through that, that was incredible. And in my field, she is the gold winner for vocal athletes.”
In her recent video, Dion mentioned how she had also seen Clarkson’s emotional response to her Olympic performance. “It was so sweet to hear your voice,” Dion reflected. “Your voice was breaking, and it touched me so tremendously.”
This heartfelt exchange between two powerhouse vocalists showcases the deep respect and connection they share through music.
