The haunting call made by hotel staff before Liam Payne ‘s tragic incident has been released.
The news of the death of singer Liam Payne (former member of One Direction ) shocked the global audience on the morning of October 17 (Vietnam time). It is known that the 31-year-old singer fell from the 3rd floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the evening of October 16 (local time). The cause of Liam Payne’s fall and death is still under investigation by the police.
However, in the latest developments, the Daily Mail reported that CasaSur Palermo hotel staff made two panicked calls to 999 (Emergency Medical Response Service), requesting urgent help before Liam Payne fell off the balcony. Accordingly, in the first call, CasaSur Palermo hotel staff panicked and said: “We have a guest who is high on drugs. He is destroying everything in the room. Someone please come and help us” . This call stopped there and was abruptly cut off.
Then the hotel staff made a second phone call, saying in a panic: “I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger or threatened. That room has a balcony and we are afraid he will do something negative. Please send emergency medical staff here.”
The receptionist at the CasaSur Palermo hotel called for help, reporting a case of a customer being high on drugs before Liam Payne fell to his death.
The media suspect that the guest mentioned by the CasaSur Palermo hotel staff in the 999 call was Liam Payne. Previously, the police also said that the male singer may have been affected by alcohol or drugs in the fatal fall. In addition, images of the chaotic room where Liam Payne was said to have stayed before his death are also spreading on social networks. At the scene, the living room was in a mess with broken objects and a broken TV screen.
On the desk in the room, there was a box of soap, matches, candle residue, tin foil, a lighter, a burned soda can lid, and a powdery substance believed to be cocaine. In the room’s bathtub, there were more candle residue and tin foil, along with suspicious burn marks and stains. This detail is consistent with hotel staff reports of guests being high on drugs and breaking things in the room.
Media reports suggest that Liam Payne was the guest reported by hotel staff to be in a drug-induced state.
The room believed to be where Liam Payne stayed before his death was in chaos, with many objects smashed and damaged.
Liam Payne arrived in Argentina with his girlfriend on September 30. After Kate Cassidy left Argentina on November 14, Liam checked into the CasaSur Palermo hotel. On October 16, hotel staff called 911 to report a man acting aggressively. According to witnesses, Liam Payne smashed his laptop in the hotel lobby and was carried back to his room.
On the evening of October 16, Liam Payne was found dead after falling from a building. Local police said the singer suffered a fractured skull and other serious injuries after falling from the third floor of the hotel. The underlying cause of Liam Payne’s tragic incident is still under investigation.
Liam showed signs of mental illness before his death
The crime scene was covered with a red tent for police to investigate.
Before his death at the age of 31, Liam Payne had a turbulent life. Sources close to him shared that Liam Payne struggled with depression and serious mental health issues in the last years of his life. “Before his death, Liam had been struggling with negative and harmful behaviors and intentions for a long time. He tried to overcome them and eliminate them from his life. But the ‘demons’ inside him (referring to psychological problems – PV) were much worse than what Liam showed on the outside,” the source said.
Liam also revealed that he went through the darkest period of his life due to drug and alcohol use. At that time, the singer was still a member of One Direction. “During the peak of One Direction, I turned to drugs and alcohol to cope with the pressure and had suicidal thoughts,” Liam Payne shared. In 2023, the singer announced that he had completed 100 days in a rehab center in Louisiana, and thanked his loved ones for supporting him in the process of regaining sobriety.
Liam Payne struggled with alcohol, drug addiction and other mental health issues in his later years.
